Thought3D, the Malta-based manufacturer of Magigoo 3D printing adhesives, recently announced a new partnership with UK company 3D Printz Limited. From here on out, the Telford-based filament supplier will become an official distributor of Magigoo in the UK.

First introduced to the 3D printing market in 2015 by the Thought3D team, Magigoo is a product that set out to solve one of the most frustrating issues with consumer 3D printing. Makers everywhere (both hobbyist and professional) will know this problem: that telltale moment when your print’s first layer becomes unstuck from the build plate causing all kinds of problems and warping.

Magigoo, a non-toxic, odourless adhesive, has therefore proved to be of great use to FDM 3D printer users all over the globe, as it tackles “first layer not sticking” problems by effectively glueing the first printed layer to the heated build plate. Once the print is done and the build plate has cooled, the prints can be easily removed.

Now, 3D Printz Limited will officially supply Magigoo products to the UK market.

“This is an important step in the growth of our business,” said the 3D Printz team. “And we’re delighted to partner with a brand which has such a great reputation, worldwide profile and a loyal customer base. Magigoo ensures a strong adhesion to the hot plate, and when printing is ready, you simply have to wait for the plate to cool down and remove your prints with just a finder flick—no additional tools are needed.”

“It is extremely rewarding to have a 30-hour print complete without any warping, which releases easily once cooled,” said 3D Printz.

Thought3D co-founder Andy Linnas echoed 3D Printz’ enthusiasm about the partnership, saying: “We look forward to collaboration with the 3D Printz team. We love working with dedicated teams in the 3D printing community, and are glad we can bring Magigoo closer to its end customers in the UK and Ireland with their help.”

Currently, Thought3D has resellers for its Magigoo adhesive across the world, including many in Europe, as well as in the U.S., Australia, Canada, China, Japan, India and more.

3D Printz Ltd, for its part, was founded by three 3D printing enthusiasts in the Shropshire region in the UK. With decades of experiences in quality and manufacturing, information technology and business development, the trio set out to develop 3D printing filaments with the quality they needed to make successful prints.

According to the company’s website, it can “guarantee a diameter tolerance of just +/- 0.03 mm on its products” which ensures a smooth surface finish and good detailing on prints. 3D Printz’s materials have reportedly been used for a range of products including model aircrafts, TV props and collapsible VR Domes.
